For people who like planning their own trips

Already planned your trip?
Find out whether you’ve planned too much of it.

You choose the places. You make the bookings. I stress-test the route before you commit the money.

Six sensible stops.
One slightly exhausting holiday.

The problem is often not an absurd choice. It is what happens when several individually sensible choices are put together and the transitions disappear from the planning page.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE
Amsterdam Paris Interlaken Venice Florence Rome

A 14-day anniversary trip. Nothing is impossible. But six bases and five inter-city moves quietly turn a large part of the holiday into packing, checking out, travelling, finding the next hotel and re-orienting.

Before
Can we fit all six places?

Yes — the timetable can make it possible.

Better question
Which five make the better holiday?

Remove one weak base; gain margin, fewer hotel changes and two proper Rome days.

How much friction is hiding in your itinerary?

This quick score runs entirely in your browser. It is deliberately crude: it tells you whether the structure deserves a closer look, not whether your trip is “right”.

I’m not trying to plan another holiday for you.

The useful question is whether the trip you already want survives contact with real movement, real energy and real dependencies.

01 · You send

The route you already chose

Dates or date range, overnight bases, what is already booked, who is travelling and the three things you most want the trip to deliver.

02 · I test

The bits planning tools hide

Hotel-to-hotel travel burden, connection fragility, too many base changes, poor route order, fixed reservations and places where the plan only works if nothing goes wrong.

03 · You receive

A small number of useful changes

One-page verdict, red/amber/green travel days, five priority findings, booking order, live-verification points and one re-check.

Why not just ask ChatGPT?

You should use AI for ideas and research. The paid review starts where another itinerary stops being useful.

AI is very good at generating.

Ideas, possible routes, lists, comparisons and draft itineraries are increasingly cheap. If that is all you need, you should not pay me.

This is an adversarial second look.

I keep your priorities fixed, verify time-sensitive dependencies where they matter, look for interactions across the whole route and decide which few changes are consequential enough to interrupt your plan.

What I look for

Not every busy itinerary is wrong. The point is to distinguish the movement that adds to the trip from the movement that quietly consumes it.

Movement

Backtracking, awkward cross-city transfers, long door-to-door days and unnecessary hotel changes.

Fragility

Self-transfers, separate tickets, last services, fixed activities after difficult travel and non-refundable dependencies.

Pace

Whether the trip matches how you said you want to travel — including deliberate space to recover, wander or change your mind.

Who is behind it?

I’m Jonathan Willmer: an aerospace engineer by background and an enthusiastic itinerary-planner by inclination.

I’m not claiming to be the local expert on every destination. The useful bit is systems thinking applied to travel: routes, interfaces, dependencies, margins and the point where a theoretically efficient plan stops feeling like the holiday you wanted.

If a recommendation depends on local or time-sensitive facts, I check the current information rather than pretending general knowledge is enough.

A simple guarantee

If the completed review does not identify at least one materially useful improvement, risk, dependency or confirmation that genuinely increases your confidence before booking, I refund the £95 fee.

Do you book flights, trains or hotels?

No. This is planning and review only. You make and pay for all bookings directly with travel providers.

Do I need to have everything planned already?

You need a real route, not a finished minute-by-minute itinerary. I need enough structure to review the trip you are actually considering rather than generate one from scratch.

What if my trip is longer than 14 days?

Email the rough route. During the founding test I am keeping the £95 scope deliberately tight; a longer complex-trip tier will be tested only if there is demand.

What information should I send first?

Only dates/date range, overnight bases, traveller count, what is already booked and your three main priorities. Please do not send passport numbers, payment-card details or other unnecessary personal data.

Is this a travel agency?

No. I do not arrange, combine or sell travel services. The review is independent planning advice; you remain responsible for bookings and for re-checking provider conditions before purchase.

Nearly ready to book?

Send me the rough route first. I’ll confirm whether it fits the £95 founding review before you pay or send detailed booking information.
